Covid: One dead, daily detection rate below two percent

Dhaka, October 29: One person died in 24 hours from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am due to coronavirus in the country. The deceased is a resident of Sirajganj, aged between 31 and 40 years.

With this, the total number of Covid deaths in the country has increased to 29,419 people. At the same time, 69 people were newly infected, taking the infection toll to 20,35,037 people.

The detection rate against sample testing in 24 hours was 1.88 percent.

This information was stated in the regular press release on Covid on Saturday (October 29) sent by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It is said that 3,658 samples were collected and 3,661 samples were tested in 882 laboratories of the country in 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total detection rate stands at 13.57 percent.

Meanwhile, 348 people have recovered as coronavirus patients in 24 hours from 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Saturday. With this, the total number of recoveries stands at 19,79,748 people.
