Cox's Bazar Cox's Bazar: 70 percent discount on hotel by showing railway ticket
Dhaka, 3 December 2023 : After the long-awaited journey on the first day of the month of Vijaya, Cox's Bazar Express arrived in the first tourist city with tourists.
Atiqur Rahman, Assistant Station Master of Cox's Bazar Railway Station, said that the train departed from Dhaka's Kamalapur station on Friday night with 1020 passengers and arrived at Cox's Bazar railway station at 8 am on Saturday, December 2.
The hundred year dream of the people of South Chittagong i.e. Dariyanagar has been fulfilled through the running of commercial trains on the Cox's Bazar-Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route.
Meanwhile, most hotel authorities have announced special discounts for tourists coming to Cox's Bazar by rail.
60-70 percent discount on accommodation is available on showing the railway ticket. 50 percent discount in star hotels and 60 percent discount in special areas. Those concerned mentioned that this initiative is to increase the number of tourists in Cox's Bazar, which is deserted due to political instability.
Abul Kashem Sikder, President of Cox's Bazar Hotel-Guesthouse Owners Association, said that Cox's Bazar Express left Cox's Bazar for Dhaka with 1020 passengers on Friday (December 1).
The return train arrived at Cox's Bazar station at 8 am with the same number of passengers. Most of the trains are tourists. 60-70 percent discount has been announced for these tourists. The leaders of Hotel-Guesthouse Owners Association took this decision in a meeting yesterday. Tourists will get this service only by showing their train ticket at the hotel.
On Saturday morning at Cox's Bazar Iconic Railway Station, leaflets were also distributed among the tourists by the affiliated hotels. At the same time tourists are welcomed with flowers. At this time, members of the tourist police also cooperated.
Hafizur Rahman Lovelu, Managing Director (MD) of Kalatali Hotel Beach Holiday said, "Hon'ble Prime Minister has transformed the hundred years dream of Cox's Bazar people into reality. We have arranged special discounts for tourists. This offer will be available for the next seven days."
