Crowds thong as Metrorail runs for first time at night in Motijheel

For the first time from Motijheel to Uttara metro rail has run from 7.10 am to 8.40 pm.

On the first day on Saturday, all stations of the Metrorail were crowded.

As many people used this public transport for their daily needs, many entertainment-loving people were also seen thronging the Metrorail stations. This crowd was seen from morning to 8 pm.

Shahbagh and Karwanbazar stations of metro rail were opened from December 31 of the current financial year. Through this, all 16 stations of MRT-6 line from Diabari to Motijheel are operational.

So far, metro rail was running from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm from Agargaon to Motijheel section and from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm from Uttara to Agargaon section. Now the metro rail is running on the Uttara-Motijheel route from 7:10 am to 8:40 pm.

On the first day night, the metro rail arrived in Motijheel, many people gathered at the station to see it. On the first day, the metro rail was overcrowded from morning till night. However, the people concerned claimed that the crowd of entertainment lovers was high.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company (DMTC) Manager Engineer Mahfuzur Rahman said, "Metrorail was running from morning to night on the first day. It was crowded all day. From morning to night there was not a mole of space at any station. But many of them were entertainment lovers. The crowd will increase from Sunday. The real picture will be available from Sunday, because the office-court will open everything on this day.

A maximum fare of 100 taka has to be paid for traveling from Uttara to Motijheel station. And the fare from Uttara to Bangladesh Secretariat is 90 taka. Besides, the fare from Uttara to Farmgate is 70 taka.

Apart from this, the fare from Uttara North Station (Diabari) to Agargaon Station, which has already started, is Tk 60.

Although separate fares are fixed for the seven stations in the middle of this section, the minimum fare for traveling in this electric public transport is Tk 20.
