Daily infection rate drops to 1.80 percent as six die in a day across Bangladesh

Dhaka, October 20: The deadly coronavirus has claimed the lives of six people in the last 24 hours, taking Bangladesh Covid-19 death toll to 27,791.

Among the six were four men and two women.

Five people died at government hospitals and one at a private facility. The death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

During this time, 368 people were identified as Covid-19 positive. The caseload has increased to 15,66,664.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 20,393 samples were tested in 831 laboratories. So far, a total of 1,00,55,435 samples have been tested in the country.

The daily infection rate was 1.80 percent. The overall rate, however, stands at 15.43 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 481 people recovered from the virus. A total of 15,29,549 people have recovered, so far, in Bangladesh, after testing positive for the virus. The recovery rate stands at 97.63 percent.

Chittagong reported three deaths, while Rajshahi and Khulna divisions accounted for two and one death respectively.
