Decapitated bodies of three found in Kishoreganj

Dhaka, October 30: Police have recovered the bodies of a husband and wife and their 12-year-old son from a house in Katiadi, Kishoreganj, a day after they mysteriously went missing. The decapitated bodies were recovered from Jamsite area of Banagram Union of the upazila around 9:30 pm on Thursday (October 29).

The deceased were identified as Asad Mia, 52, son of late Mir Hossain Khan of Jamshait village, his wife Parveen Akhter, 40, and their infant son Leon, 12.

Police believe that the murder took place due to a family dispute and have arrested Asad's brother, two sisters and the husband of one sister for questioning.

Asad and his wife and children mysteriously disappeared from their home on Thursday morning, police said.

Their two sons Mofazzal and Tofazzal were not able to find their parents and younger brother when they returned home from Dhaka today.

When they saw blood inside the house, they informed the people around. After informing the police in the afternoon, Katiadi police went to the spot. Later, the bodies of three people were found buried in a hole next to the house.

Mofazzal Hossain, son of the deceased Asad, said that when he returned home from his grandfather's house this morning, he saw that his parents and brother were not at home. But there are blood stains on the floor of the house. He informed the people of the area about the incident.

Later, the villagers informed the police and the police recovered the bodies of the three while they were buried next to the house. Senior police, CID and PBIA officials visited the spot soon after the incident.

Kishoreganj Superintendent of Police Mashrukur Rahman Khaled said the killing took place due to a family dispute, quoting initial investigation.

Police have arrested Asad's brother Deen Islam, two sisters Nazma and Taslima and Taslima's husband Fazlu Mia. Asad's mother has also been detained for questioning.

The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to Kishoreganj 250-bed General Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
