Pharmacy Decision to close pharmacy after midnight will be reconsidered
Dhaka, August 31: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said that the matter of keeping the medicine shop open 24 hours adjacent to the hospital will be reviewed.
He said, the timing of the hospital related drug store may be reviewed and revised as per the requirement in view of the application. We will review the applications of drug stores that are required to remain open beyond the prescribed hours. He said these things in response to reporters' questions after inaugurating the Azimpur Pedestrian Crossing Bridge adjacent to Azimpur Mother and Child Hospital in the capital on Wednesday (August 31).
Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said, "The schedule that we have given has been very appreciated. Everyone including the people of Dhaka have realized that a city also needs rest. It is necessary to manage properly."
He said that the people of Dhaka cannot give time to their families because of their busy schedule. Dhaka residents will be able to gift their families a nice time after the shops are closed at a specific time. All shops will be closed by 8 pm, and other establishments we have brought under separate schedule.
Earlier, DSCC announced this decision by publishing a public notice on August 22. It is mentioned in the public notice that in order to save electricity and energy due to the continuous increase in global energy prices, instructions have been given on June 16 as per the decision of the Prime Minister's office to close shops, shopping malls, markets, markets, and raw markets after 8 pm. According to that directive, with the aim of bringing order in the area under the jurisdiction of Dhaka South City Corporation and proper management of Dhaka city, these institutions should be managed from September 1 as per the specified time in the public interest.
According to the category, various establishments are under the closure period - all shops, shopping malls, markets, markets, raw markets, commercial establishments, establishments must be closed by 8 pm. Similarly, kitchens of all types of restaurants, eateries and shops must be closed by 10 pm and food delivery by 11 pm.
On the other hand, entertainment establishments, including movie theaters, must be closed by 11 p.m. Apart from this, the general medicine shop should be closed by 12 midnight and the private medicine shop attached to the hospital should be closed by 2 am.
