Dengue claimed 86 lives in October, 21,932 hospitalised

Dhaka, November 1: From May this year, the number of dengue cases started increasing. Every month since then, the number of infected has surpassed the previous months. The number of infected in October has more than doubled compared to September. In October, 21,932 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue. During this period, 86 people died of dengue, which is more than double compared to September.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in September, the number of dengue patients across the country was 9,911. Thirty-four people died that month. In the last 24 hours, five people died of dengue.

According to the statement, 141 people have died of dengue fever this year. Among them, 86 people died in October. Thirty-four people died in the previous month of September and 11 people died in August.

One person died last June and nine people died in July. In addition, 38,024 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue this year. Among them, 26,623 people were admitted in Dhaka and 12,008 dengue patients were admitted outside Dhaka.
