Dengue claims 21 more lives in a single day

Dhaka, Sept 21: From Tuesday 8 am to Wednesday 8 am, 3,015 patients were admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection. Among the affected, 857 people have been admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 3,025 people have been admitted to different hospitals outside Dhaka. During this period, 21 more people died of dengue. Earlier on September 2, 21 people lost their lives due to dengue.

In a press release sent from the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday, it is also said that currently a total of 10,263 dengue patients are under treatment in various public and private hospitals of the country. At present 3,819 people are admitted in public and private hospitals of Dhaka and 6,444 dengue patients are admitted in various hospitals of other departments.

This year, 1 lakh 76 thousand 810 patients have been admitted and treated in hospitals across the country due to dengue. Among them, 75,833 people have received treatment in Dhaka and 1 lakh 977 people outside Dhaka.

Among the infected, 1 lakh 65 thousand 680 people have recovered from the hospital and returned home. 71,426 in Dhaka and 94,254 outside Dhaka have recovered and returned home. 867 people have died due to dengue this year.
