Dhaka, 13 August 2023 : The spread of dengue mosquitoes is increasing in the country. Death is also increasing by leaps and bounds.

14 people died of dengue fever in the last 24 hours till 8 o'clock on Saturday.

With this, the number of people who have died due to dengue this year has reached 387. Besides, 2,432,000 people were newly admitted to the hospital at the same time.

According to the Department of Health on Saturday, 2 thousand 432 people were admitted to various public and private hospitals of the country due to dengue infection from 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Saturday. Among them, 940 are residents of Dhaka and 1,492 are outside Dhaka.

From January 1 to August 12 this year, 82 thousand 506 people were affected by dengue. Among them, 41 thousand 704 are residents of Dhaka. 40 thousand 802 people have been admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka. At the same time, 72,289 people were discharged from the hospital. Among them, 36 thousand 981 people are residents of Dhaka and 35 thousand 308 people are outside Dhaka.

Earlier in 2022, 281 people died of dengue. 27 people died of dengue in the last month of that year, December. At the same time, 62 thousand 382 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in the year under discussion.

During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue throughout the country. In the same year, 105 people died due to dengue throughout the country.
