Trade Fair Dhaka International Trade Fair attracts more visitors than buyers
Dhaka, January 4: Tuesday was the third day of the international trade fair at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) in Purbachal New City. Even after three days of the fair, the stalls are still not seeing many customers. Still, the sellers are sitting with their products in stalls participating in the fair in the hope of buyers. The sellers say that it is the early part of the fair. So the number of visitors is more than buyers. But if the week goes by, the trade fair will be crowded.
On the other hand, some stalls of the fair have seen the work of tree planting going on. Although some of the stalls are finished, some are busy arranging the goods. However, outside BBCFEC, there is a market like a small-scale fair. Most of the small shops that are temporarily set up along the fair grounds are food hotels. Many complain that these shops are disrupting the environment of the international trade fair.
Suman, a sales executive at Iran Thai Emporium, said that every year at the beginning of the fair, there are more visitors than buyers. Many people come to see the atmosphere of the fair. However, those who come early to the fair choose the middle of the fair for shopping.
Saiful Islam came from Khilkhet with his whole family for the fair. He said, I left the office a little earlier today. Now the fair is less crowded, so come to visit. But roaming does not mean only roaming, there is definitely a desire to buy when you get a favorite product.
Like last year, there is a shuttle service for the transportation of buyers and visitors to the fair. Seventy BRTC buses ply from Kuril Biswa Road to Exhibition Centre. The fare of these buses has been fixed at Tk 35. The fair will be open daily from 10 am to 9 pm. The fair will be open till 10 pm on weekends.
The entry fee for adults is Tk 40 and Tk 20 for minors. However, there is a 50 percent discount if you buy tickets online. There is about 1000 car parking facility in the fair.
