Dhaka | Population Dhaka's population stands at 1.12 crore
Dhaka, July 27: The total population of the country is now 16 crore 51 lakh 58 thousand 616 people. Among them, 1 crore 12 lakh 19 thousand 708 people live in Dhaka city. That is 1/16 of the total population.
This information was presented at the publication ceremony of the first digital census and household census 2022 implemented through BBS under the Department of Statistics and Information Management at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on Wednesday (July 27).
According to the BBS report, 60 lakh 79 thousand 365 men and 51 lakh 38 thousand 692 women live in Dhaka city. And the population of third gender is more than 1 thousand 615 people in Dhaka city.
It is said that the total population of the country is now 16 crore 51 lakh 58 thousand 616 people. Where 8 crore 17 lakh men and 8 crore 33 lakh women and 12 thousand 629 third gender.
According to the published report, 65.26 percent of every 100 people are currently married. Among them, Rajshahi is leading with 68.97 percent married. On the other hand, divorce is 0.37 percent. Khulna is ahead in division with 0.46 percent division wise.
Speaker Dr. Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam and others are present as chief guests in the event under the chairmanship of Planning Minister MA Mannan.
