Dhaka, June 26, 2022: It will take only 25 minutes to reach Mawa Toll Plaza end of Padma Bridge via Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga Expressway (Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Highway) from the capital. Private cars, microbuses, jeeps and motorcycles will be needed at this time. It will take only 6-7 minutes to cross the Padma Bridge. In other words, it will take about 32 minutes to cross the Padma Bridge from Dhaka.

The country's first expressway has been built around the Padma Bridge. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the expressway on March 12, 2020. Since then, the Padma Bridge has been the center of interest for people in 21 southern districts.

After the Padma Bridge was opened to the public from 8am on Sunday (June 26), people from the southern part of the country will be able to cross the Padma Bridge in a very short time. Through this, this new corridor of the economy of South Bengal was unveiled.

The distance of this expressway from the edge of Dhaka to Bhanga of Faridpur is 55 kilometers. It usually takes only 42 minutes to cover this distance along the expressway.

It will take 25 minutes to travel 35 kilometers from Dhaka to Mawa. If you take the Mawa Road from Jatrabari, this expressway will take you straight to the gate of the Padma Bridge.

The Padma Bridge is the largest installation in the country built entirely with its own funds.

The length of the bridge is 6.15 km. One part of the bridge connects the Padma river to the Mawa end of Munshiganj and the other part to the Jajira end of Shariatpur.

At the same time there are train and car services on this bridge. The railway line is on the ground floor of the 72-foot-wide bridge with four lanes. This will establish rail connectivity with the south. The concerned authorities are hoping that the railway will be launched next year.
