DMP prohibits fireworks during Shab-e-Barat

Dhaka, March 29: Holy Shab-e-Barat will be celebrated on Monday (March 29) night. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the carrying and detonation of explosives, fireworks, firecrackers, other harmful and contaminants on the night. The ban was issued in a circular signed by DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam on Sunday (March 28) evening. The ban will remain in force from 6 pm on that day to 6 am on March 30.

Accrding to the notification only Shab-e-Barat will be celebrated on the night of March 29.

In order to maintain the sanctity of the day and to ensure the smooth and peaceful celebration of the event, the Commissioner of Police, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No.-OOO / 76) has been empowered under Section 28 of the Constitution to ensure peace and order in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area. Carrying and detonation of explosives, fireworks, firecrackers, other harmful and contaminants has been banned from 6 pm on March 29 to 6 am on March 30.

Holy Shab-e-Barat will be celebrated on Monday night with due religious dignity. Due to the increase in Covid disease, the Islamic Foundation has requested to observe Shab-e-Barat in accordance with the hygiene rules.

Last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Religion called for worship at home. However, the Ministry of Religion has not yet given any instructions in this regard.
