DU Teachers' Association polls: Pro-Awami League Blue Panel wins 14 out of 15 posts

Dhaka, December 30: In the 2023 executive council election of Dhaka University Teachers Association (DUTA), Blue Panel, the pro-Awami League teachers' organization, has won all but one post. Only one vice-presidential post was won by the pro-BNP-Jamaat teachers' organization White Panel.

Director of Election Professor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar announced the result at Dhaka University Club on Thursday (December 29) afternoon. Earlier, polling was held from 10 am to 2:30 pm.

Blue Panel professor Dr. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan was elected as the president. He got 819 votes. His nearest rival White Panel Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam got 384 votes. The rebel candidate of the Blue Panel Prof. Dr. AKM Jamal Uddin got 132 votes. Vice President Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman got 679 votes. Blue Panel candidate Professor Lafifa Jamal got 632 votes for this position. Blue Panel candidate Professor Dr. Masudur Rahman for the post of treasurer won by getting 828 votes. His only rival Professor Dr. Mohiuddin got 461 votes.

Professor Dr. Zeenat Huda became the general secretary. He got 712 votes The white party's candidate for this post, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Chiddikur Rahman Khan, got 581 votes. Professor Dr. Abu Khaled Md. Khademul Haque won the post of the joint general secretary by getting 845 votes. White Panel candidate for this post Professor Debashish Pal got 386 votes.

Also, 10 out of 10 membership seats were won by Blue Panel candidates. The winning candidates of the Blue Panel are - Prof. Dr. Zia Rahman, Prof. Dr. Abu Jafar Md. Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, Prof. Dr. Amjad Ali, Prof. Dr. Chandranath Poddar, Prof. Dr. Sharmin Musa, Prof. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Prof. Dr. Sharif Akhtaruzzaman and Prof. Dr. A. KM Saiful Islam Khan.
