Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with joy and excitement

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 4: The holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated all over the country including the capital Dhaka on Tuesday with due dignity, religious solemnity and exuberance. This is one of the major religious festivals celebrated by the devout Muslims of the country by performing Eid prayers.

In the hope of gaining Allah's pleasure, millions of devout people of the country, including the capital Dhaka, performed Eid prayers under the canopy of Eidgahs, mosques and open fields.

President Md. Abdul Hamid took part in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the court hall of Bangabhaban at 9.30 am. He performed Eid prayers at the state residence with his family members and Bangabhaban officials and employees. At the end of the prayers, prayers are offered for the welfare of the country and the nation. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the President conveyed his sincere greetings and congratulations to the people of the country and the world.

The main Eid Jamaat was held at the National Eidgah Maidan adjacent to the High Court in the capital Dhaka at 8.30 am. Hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life, including cabinet members, members of parliament, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court divisions, senior political leaders, senior government officials and diplomats from various Muslim countries, prayed at the festival.

Hafez Maulana Mufti Ruhul Amin, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque was the Imam of Eid main congregation under the overall supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation. At the end of the prayers, special munajat is offered for the welfare, happiness, peace and prosperity of the country and nation including the entire Muslim Ummah.

Special arrangements were made for the prayers of women and foreign diplomats in this main congregation. There were also ablutions, drinking water and mobile toilets for the worshipers.

Three layers of special security measures were taken for the Eid Jamaat at the National Eidgah. CCTV cameras were installed in all the entrances to the Eidgah and in the entire pandal of the Eidgah grounds including the prayer places of VVIPs and VIPs. The worshipers had to enter the pandal through the archway after being searched with metal detectors before entering the Eidgah.

In order to ensure the safety of the main congregation, RAB and police members in civil dresses were on duty at Eidgah Maidan all the time.

After overcoming the Corona pandemic, the two city corporations of Dhaka organized Eid Jamaat in the open field as well as in the mosques. The second largest congregation in the capital was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Five Eid congregations were held here this time.
