Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 6 December 2023: Election Commissioner (EC) Md Alamgir said, "There is absolutely no pressure from foreigners on the Election Commission. What they want to know when they come to us is what we have done for free and fair elections. Foreigners are satisfied with the election environment so far. We have not been given any suggestion or pressure from them. Instead, the Election Commission is pressuring everyone for the sake of fair elections."

He said these things while talking to reporters at the Mymensingh Zilla Parishad auditorium on Tuesday afternoon. Election Commissioner Md Alamgir briefed the journalists after exchanging views with Mymensingh District Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer, local authorities of law and order enforcement and other persons related to the election.

He said that the violence that is happening to oppose the election is very limited. Law enforcement officials have assured me that everything is under control. As a result, there is no opportunity for the election to be disturbed or the voters will not be able to vote enthusiastically. After the announcement of the schedule, everyone from voters-candidates took it as a festival.

Stating that there are no major challenges surrounding the elections, EC Alamgir said, "There are challenges in doing any work. There are minor challenges. But the officials have not mentioned any challenges that have emerged as major issues for us."

Regarding the reshuffle of the administration, he said, "In our country's elections in the past, changes have sometimes been made at the district administration level and at the upazila level as well. One of the demands that the political parties of our country raised as a condition for coming to the elections was that the administration should be reshuffled. A part of it. It has been done as such."
