Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 17 March 2024: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that the big countries of the world could not interfere in the elections of Bangladesh because India was on Bangladesh's side.

Obaidul Quader said at the biennial conference of the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council at Dhakeshwari National Temple in the capital on Saturday morning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have broken the long-standing wall of suspicion and mistrust between Bangladesh and India. He has peacefully resolved the 68-year-old problem of exchange of seats for good relations with India. There was a discussion about the water of different rivers including Teesta. The solution to this must be patience. It is not possible to solve the problem by spoiling relations with India.

Awami League general secretary said, India out campaign on social media is not appropriate. The question is, why are you trying to awaken anti-India sentiments? It is a shield of propaganda for those who did not come to the polls. When the Awami League was in power, a faction indulged in anti-India. They are still doing it.

Regarding syndicates in the market, the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said, Is the syndicate good? Why should the government support the syndicate? The Syndicate has to find the source of whatever it is. Real truth should be found out and appropriate action should be taken. Government is active here. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a worthy leader to solve the crisis. So Obaidul Quader calls for patience.

Obaidul Quader said to the traditional religious people of the country that the concept of minority is a shackle of slavery, it should be broken. Why do slavery? What does the constitution of Bangladesh say? Why do you think you are a minority? People of all religions contributed equally to the independence of Bangladesh.
