Dhaka, March 29: Daily Prothom Alo's Savar reporter Shamsuzzaman was picked up from his house on Tuesday night in the identity of CID. A case has been filed against him under the Digital Security Act at Tejgaon police station in the capital. On Wednesday March 29, a plaintiff named Syed Md. Golam Kibria filed this case in Tejgaon police station.

According to the statement of the case, on March 26, on the Great Independence Day, Prothom Alo published news with a picture on its website. At the same time the outlet shared the news on their Facebook page. The news shows a child standing at the gate of the National Memorial with a flower in his hand. The reporter claimed that the child's name is Zakir Hossain. According to the report of the newspaper, the child Zakir Hossain said - "If you don't have food in your stomach, what will you do with freedom? When you go to the market, you will sweat. We want freedom of fish, meat and rice."

The statement also said that the news went viral on social media. The news was shared by thousands of people in the country and abroad along with screenshots on their social media. In this incident, on the great independence day of Bangladesh, adverse reactions were created in the outside world, including the people of Bangladesh, about the golden and glorious image of Bangladesh. As this news was released on the day of the great Independence Day, discussion-criticism started about the image of the country and the achievement of independence worldwide.

Later in the news published on 71 TV channel, it was reported that Prothom Alo intentionally presented the news with false identity and false quotes. The child mentioned in Prothom Alo's report has a different identity.

The newspaper said that the child's name is Zakir Hossain, but the search showed that the child's name is Sabuj Ahmed, a resident of Kurgaon neighborhood of Savar police station. His father is a mason, and his mother Munni Begum. Sabuj is the middle child among three siblings. According to Prothom Alo, he is a day laborer. But in reality, seven-year-old Sabuj Ahmed studies in first grade and occasionally sells flowers after school.
