Father, four sons murdered in Bandarban

Dhaka, February 25: Opposition groups hacked to death a father and four sons over a dispute in Bandarban's Ruma. The incident took place at Abupara in Galenga Union of the upazila on Thursday night (February 24).

The deceased were identified as Langrui Mro (60), his son Rungthui Mro (45), Ringrao Mro (35), Langin Mro and Menwai Mro.

It is learned that the locals were having a dispute with the head of Abupara of Galenga union of Ruma upazila. On Thursday night, the people of the neighborhood got angry and went to the house of the head of the neighborhood. At this time the quarrel started at one stage. Five people, including the head of the neighborhood, were killed.

Menrat Mro, chairman of the Ruler's Galenga union, said locals hacked the neighborhood chief and his four sons to death. "I could not find out the details as there was no internet there. I'm going to the scene."

Bandarban Superintendent of Police Jerin Akhtar said he had received reports of five members of the same family, including the village head, being killed in Abupara in the remote Galenga union of Rumara. Police team is going to the spot.
