Dhaka Restaurant Fire Fire damages Dhaka restaurant
Dhaka: A restaurant in Dhaka's Gulshan area was gutted as fire broke out on the second floor of the 14-storey Unimart building, media reports said on Sunday.
Firefighters brought the flames within around 45 minutes after it broke out from the restaurant’s kitchen around 9:15pm on Saturday, Debashish Bardhan, a deputy director at the Fire Service and Civil Defence, told bdnews24.
Fire fighters reached the site immediately and doused the flames.
“Otherwise the fire would have spread to the other floors," Bardhan said.
The false ceiling and some furniture of the restaurant have been burnt, Debashish said.
