The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known. The police were sent to the spot after hearing the news of the fire. Along with that, various forces were deployed to avoid major damage.

Shafiq Ullah, a resident of Ukhiyar camp affected by the fire, said, "I have become destitute as everything has been burnt in the fire. Many houses and shops were burnt here. There were also several shops. Here lies the secret behind repeated fires. Therefore, the camp fires are not stopping."
