Dhaka, July 1: The first dose of coronavirus vaccination is being resumed across the country from Thursday. The first dose will be administered with Sinopharm and Pfizer vaccines. Sinopharm vaccines will be given at various medical college hospitals and district headquarters hospitals across the country. The Pfizer vaccine will be given at seven centers in the capital from 8 am to 3 pm. However, those currently on the priority list will receive the vaccine.

This information was given in the regular coronavirus bulletin of the health department on Wednesday (June 30) by Dr. Shamsul Haque, the line director of the department and the director of the vaccination program.

He said Sinopharm vaccination activities across the country are set to begin on Thursday (July 1). All medical college hospitals in the country, District Sadar Hospital, Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital in Chittagong and Syedpur Sadar Hospital will give the vaccine daily from 8 am to 3 pm.

"In Dhaka city, we had started vaccination program in 48 centers earlier, but at the moment the vaccination program will take place in 40 centers, after eight centers have been excluded," he said.

"Those on the priority list, especially our medical, nursing and MATS [Medical Assistant Training Schools] students, will be vaccinated. At the same time, students of our government universities, police personnel and other priority enrollees will be able to get vaccinated. In addition, those who have previously registered but have not been able to get the vaccine will be able to do so," he added.
