Solar Power Plant First floating solar power plant connected to national grid
Dhaka, May 31: The country's first floating solar power plant located at Bulanpur in Chapainawabganj has been connected to the national grid. The production capacity of this power plant is 2.30 MW.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid gave this information in a post from his verified Facebook account on Tuesday.
Nasrul Hamid said in the post, "Bangladesh's first floating solar power plant at Bulanpur in Chapainawabganj has been connected to the national grid. The total production capacity of the power plant is 2.30 MW. As a result of the project, fish and electricity will be available from the same reservoir."
The state minister also said, "We will closely monitor the growth of fish in the reservoir in the next few months. If the environmental balance remains intact, we will take the initiative to produce electricity on a larger scale in different reservoirs of the country."
