First metro rail journey of PM Sheikh Hasina and sister Sheikh Rehana

Dhaka, December 29: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana, who became the first passengers of the metro rail, bought tickets and boarded the metro rail from Diabari station in Uttara to Agargaon station. More than two hundred passengers from different professions accompanied the Prime Minister on this trip.

On Wednesday (December 28) at 1:54 PM, the Prime Minister and her traveling companions boarded the metro rail for Agargaon from Uttara station. Earlier, the Prime Minister officially started the metro rail movement from Diabari (North) station of the capital at around 1:40 PM. He waved the green flag and ushered in the official journey of Bangladesh's first metro rail. The driver of the first train was Asma Akhtar.

After inaugurating the Metrorail in the morning, the Prime Minister went to the Uttara Uttar station of the Metrorail at 1.30 pm and took part in the photo session. Later, the Prime Minister planted trees there and participated in prayers. After paying the money, she booked the metro rail ticket. Meanwhile, Sheikh Rehana also bought tickets. Later, more than two hundred traveling companions bought tickets one by one.

Initially, the metro rail will run from Uttara Uttar station to Agargaon on a limited scale. Metro rail passenger transport will start tomorrow from Thursday. If everything goes well, by December next year, you can travel from Uttara to Motijheel by metro rail.

Initially, the metro rail will run for 4 hours a day. 8 am to 12 noon. While running from Uttara to Agargaon, the trains will not stop midway.

The government has fixed the minimum fare for metro rail at Tk 20. The fare from Uttara to Motijheel will be Tk 100. In the first phase, the metro rail will start running from Uttara Uttar station to Agargaon station and the fare will be Tk 60 per passenger.

Besides, the fare from Uttara North Station to Uttara Center (Central) and Uttara South Station will be the same 20 taka. From Uttara North, the fare for Pallabi and Mirpur-11 stations is Tk 30, the fare for Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations is Tk 40 and the fare for Sheorapara station is Tk 50.
