Kashimpur Central Jail Five officials withdrawn from Kashimpur Central Jail
Dhaka, January 25: Five officials have been withdrawn from Kashimpur Central Jail after allegations of arranging women's company were initially proved. The withdrawn officers are Ratna Roy, senior jail superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-1, Nur Mohammad of the district, Mohammad Saqlain, deputy jail superintendent, Sergeant Abdul Bari and Khalilur Rahman, assistant chief jailor.
Tushar Ahmed, one of the accused in the Hallmark money scam case, was arranged to have a women's meeting at Kashimpur Central Jail in exchange for a bribe of Tk 130,000. Among them, Nur Mohammad of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 took bribe of Tk 1 lakh, Golam Saqlain of deputy district took bribe of Tk 25,000 and other sergeant instructors and gate assistant chief jail guards took bribe of Tk 5,000.
Senior Jail Superintendent Ratna Roy mentioned this in a report submitted to the Inspector General of Prisons on January 14 while discussing the issue of illegal association of women in prisons. However, he mentioned in the report that he was not responsible for the incident.
In the report, Ratna Roy blamed Nur Mohammad Mridha of the district for the incident. Deputy district deputy in the whole incident with him. Saqlain was involved. And the incident has been a secret.
She mentioned in the report that the district itself allowed the concerned people including the woman to enter the jail and the deputy district district received them. It is not possible to come to the prison office to meet someone with a trial without the involvement of the jailer. To keep the whole matter a secret, walkie-talkie had been removed and coordinated by contacting on mobile. The incident took place without her knowledge.
According to jail sources, the woman entered the office room of the jail on January 6 at 1:56 pm. Tushar, one of the perpetrators of the Hallmark scandal, came to the jail office room from the jail cell at 2:04. Then Jail Superintendent Ratna Roy left the office room at 2.15 pm. Tushar and the woman stayed in a room of the jail office for 45 minutes.
An official said the woman was identified as the wife of the detainee. The matter can be confirmed in the investigation. However, the manner in which the matter of meeting that woman has come to the fore is completely illegal. According to the investigation report, legal action will be taken against those who are responsible.
