Own Correspondent, Sylhet, March 7: The engine of a Bangladesh Biman aircraft has been damaged due to a bird strike at Sylhet Osmani International Airport. As a result, the BG-201 flight could not fly in the sky.

The flight could not depart from Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport till 8:30 pm on Sunday (March 6), and due to this, 265 passengers of the flight had suffered.

Airport sources said the plane's engine was not working properly just before take-off on Sunday morning. While searching for the cause, it was found that the engine had suffered a bird strike. The flight could not be operated on time due to engine failure caused by bird strike. As a result, passengers of the flight had suffered throughout the day. The return flight from London Heathrow to Sylhet has also been canceled due to this flight cancellation.

Sylhet Osmani International Airport Manager Hafiz Ahmed confirmed the incident. He told Jago News that the engine of the aircraft had broken down due to bird strike, and for this, the flight had been cancelled. However, no evidence of bird strike was found on the runway of MAG Osmani Airport. Maybe the plane collided with bird(s) somewhere before landing. And because of this, the engine of the aircraft had broken down.
