Foreign Minister not on a visit to Delhi with Prime Minister Hasina

Dhaka, September 5: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen did not visit India with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. According to sources in the Ministry of External Affairs, he is not going to visit India due to illness. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for New Delhi on a four-day visit on Monday (September 5) morning.

At 10:17 am, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP chartered flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The Foreign Minister usually accompanies the Prime Minister on foreign visits.

It is learned that the flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage arrived at New Delhi's Palam Airport after 12 noon (Bangladesh time). The Prime Minister of Bangladesh was received there by Indian Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh and High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India Muhammad Imran.

Recently, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen commented that he requested the Indian government to sustain the ruling Awami League government of Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh. His statement gave rise to many discussions and criticisms, putting the leaders of the ruling Awami League in an uncomfortable position.
