Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 10: Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen will visit India from February 23 to 25 at the invitation of Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. Shringla had invited Momen for a two-day visit last December.

The Foreign Secretary will arrive in Chennai, India from Dhaka on February 23. There he will inaugurate the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh. The official news agency BSS quoted a source as saying on Wednesday. The Foreign Secretary will leave Chennai for New Delhi on February 24. There he will meet Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

According to sources, the Foreign Secretary will discuss various bilateral and multilateral issues, including enhancing mutual cooperation on security issues.

Momen will leave New Delhi for Dhaka on February 25 after completing his three-day official visit to India.

When contacted by a source at the Bangladesh Mission in New Delhi, the source confirmed the visit and said they were working on the visit. An official from the mission said, "Yes, this visit is almost certain. We are working on it."

Last year, Momen visited India from January 27 to 29 for the annual Bangladesh-India Foreign Office Consultation (FOC).
