Foreigners are our friends, don't worry about restrictions: Quader
Dhaka, May 29: General Secretary of Awami League Obaidul Quader said that Awami League stood by the people of the country in any calamity and contributed. Despite the crisis, the country has moved forward as world leaders have highlighted in their comments. BNP has heartburn. So it made negative comments about the Prime Minister's visit.
He said this at a joint meeting of Dhaka Metropolitan North-South Awami League and affiliated organizations with the editorial board of Bangladesh Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Sunday.
Quader said that BNP leaders cannot be attacked under any circumstances. But if they do, it is no longer a discount. No ban will stop the election. We are not worried about sanctions, foreigners are our friends. BNP does sick politics. BNP will be defeated if Awami League is united.
He said, BNP does dirty and corrupt politics. Bangabandhu's Bangladesh is not safe for them. So we have to take an oath, we have to resist BNP, the sponsor of militancy and communal terrorism.
Quader said, Awami League wants free, fair and impartial elections. But BNP is conspiring to disrupt the election. Since the constitution of the country does not mention the issue of caretaker government, if it talks about it, BNP will be affected by the visa policy. Now it is a matter to be seen what America's action will be regarding those who will stand in the way of free, fair and impartial elections.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mirza Azam, Afam Bahauddin Nashim, Dipu Moni, Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Science and Technology Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur and others were present in the meeting.
