Four die in a day as Bangladesh records lowest single-day coronavirus death toll in 1.5 years

Dhaka, October 22: After one and half years, Bangladesh recorded its lowest single-day coronavirus death toll as four people died in the last 24 hours, between Thursday and Friday. The death toll has increased to 27,805.

On May 6, 2020, three people had died in a 24-hour period. Since then, the toll declared on Friday is the lowest.

Meanwhile, 232 people tested positive for the virus. A total of 15,67,139 people have tested positive for the virus in Bangladesh.

During this time, 17,100 samples have been tested in 832 private and government laboratories.

Authorities have, so far, tested 1,00,88,623 samples in the country.

The daily infection rate was 1.36 percent, while the overall detection rate stands at 15.38 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 564 people receoved from the disease, taking the recovery toll to 15,30,647. The recovery rate in the last 24 hours was 97.67 percent.

Dhaka division accounted for two deaths, while Barisal and Chittagong recorded one each.
