Fourth ship arrives at Pyara with 37,650 tons of coal

Dhaka, July 10: Another foreign ship named MV YM Summit arrived at the port with 37,650 metric tons of coal to solve the energy crisis of Payra thermal power plant in Patuakhali. With this, the fourth ship carrying coal anchored at Payra seaport.

The ship reached Payra port outage at 4 pm on Sunday. Later, the ship was taken to the inner anchorage, said the port authority.

According to Payra port sources, this is the fourth ship to bring coal to continue the production of power plant after the closure of Payra thermal power plant. The length of the ship is 199.90 meters, width is 32.26 meters and depth is 9.50 meters. The Marshall Islands-flagged ship left Indonesia's Balikpanan port a week ago for Pyara. On Monday morning, it will be taken to the Payra thermal power plant jetty and the coal will be unloaded there.

Earlier last Thursday, the third ship named MV Jador reached Payra with 36,600 metric tons of coal. Earlier on June 22, MV Athena arrived at Payra port with 41,207 metric tons of coal. With that coal, the power plant went into production on June 25. Then on July 2, another ship named MV Pavo Brave anchored at the port with 36,570 metric tons of coal. On June 5, due to the coal crisis, the production of the Payra thermal power plant was completely stopped.
