Dhaka, December 10: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader commented that half of BNP's movement has been defeated. He said, "Those who said - we will hold a rally in Nayapaltan. Today they are in Golap Bagh. So who is the loser? BNP or us? Half of the defeat in the movement is here."

He said this at a rally organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League at the capital's theater stage on Friday (December 9) afternoon.

Obaidul Quader warned that if BNP brings sticks or fire to their rally in Dhaka, it will be a 'game'.

He said, "Everyone should be ready. Be on alert. Along with Qatar, Bangladesh will also play against the evil forces. We will play with sticks or fire. I have made many concessions, and I will not give up."

However, the leader of the ruling party assured the people of Dhaka and said, "They (BNP) will stay in Golapbagh. We are going to Savar. The people have nothing to fear. We passed them through Dhaka. We are in power. We don't want chaos."

At the time, he said, "If BNP comes to power, the whole of Bangladesh will be swallowed. They cannot be given that chance. The colorful dream of BNP coming to power will disappear like camphor."

The general secretary of Awami League also said, "BNP says the government is scared. Is the government scared? Here is the meeting at Natyamanch Pragangan, on the other side Nawabpur, on the other side Baitul Mukarram in Gulistan. A huge rally has just hit Dhaka South."

Addressing the journalists, Obaidul Quader said, "Journalist friends, bring out the truth. Some media have come to bring BNP to power. Who are they, they will get an answer in time. Some media, at night and in the morning, do not seem to have any other party here. He said, Is there any party other than Awami League?"

Addressing the diplomats, he said, "Representatives of different countries who are in our country. Representatives of friendly countries will not take sides. Do not interfere in our house. We know how to protect democracy. I did not say that the cloud will go away. It will be resolved, it is done. Bangla College and finally Golapbagh. They (BNP) have come to good sense."
