Of these three primary schools, Purba Chandana Government Primary School in Gazipur city and Banshtali Government Primary School in Kaliakair Upazila have been designated as polling centres.

Meanwhile, another primary school which was also set on fire — TNT Government Primary School — was the polling station in the last city elections. But this time it was not kept in the polling stations' list.

According to reports, these arson incidents took place on Friday (January 5) midnight.

The fire has gutted several polling booth rooms at Purba Chandna Government Primary School.

On the other hand, TNT Government Primary School was set on fire around 3:30 am. On receiving the information, Gazipur Mordan Fire Service and Joydevpur Fire Service personnel rushed to the scene and doused the blaze.

Meanwhile, unknown miscreants set fire to the office room of Banshtali Government Primary School of Mouchak Union of Kaliakair Upazila of Gazipur. After arriving at the school in the morning, the teachers saw that the office room was gutted. They said all necessary documents and few new books in the office room were burnt.
