New Delhi: Bangladesh's martyr-intellectual Alim Chowdhury's daughter Nuzhat Chowdhury has joined an international platform to demand a trial for the Pakistani Army and government for the 1971 genocide.

She made the demand on International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Wednesday.

She made the remarks at a conference held at the India International Center in Delhi.

The conference was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Unity Foundation of India.

Speakers at the event included British parliamentarian Bob Blackman, French writer Franois Gantie, Kashmiri activist Ajay Chrungu, Indian security analyst Nitin Gokhale, and Balochistan researcher Sandhya Jain.

Everyone in the conference identified Pakistan as a ‘genocidal nation’ or genocidal country.

From Bangladesh to Baloch, Shia Hazaras, Kashmiri Pandits or Afghans, they use the term to describe the indiscriminate genocide perpetrated by the Pakistani military over the decades, the Bangla Tribune reported.

According to the report, Dr. Nuzhat Choudhury said, "There have been thousands of attempts by Pakistanis to forget that genocide, which is still happening today. What Pakistan has said has happened, now we both move forward in the spirit of Muslim brotherhood. But they have not apologized for once."

"Any injury needs a 'closure'. As a doctor, I can say that if the wound is not healed properly, the pain in the wound remains. And here we see, there are constant attempts to reduce the number of victims of the genocide to three million, "he said.

Nuzhat Choudhury also reminded that the war criminals were finally tried in Bangladesh under the courageous and strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, many of them were hanged and it was unimaginable during the BNP-Jamaat rule.
