Golden Jubilee of Independence: 10-day program finalised

Dhaka, March 13: On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence, the government has organized a 10-day program from March 17-26. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, chief coordinator of the National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of Mujib Centenary, said this at a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute on Friday afternoon.

He said Bangabandhu's life and deeds will be highlighted in various ways during these 10 days. It will be at the National Parade Square. Heads of different countries have expressed interest in taking part in it. The main theme of this event is 'Mujib Chiranton'.

There will be foreign guests for 5 out of 10 days of the program. Foreign guests and the President and Prime Minister of the country will be present for five days on March 17, 19, 22, 24 and 26. Apart from this, heads of different countries, heads of international organizations and important personalities will also be present.

The program of these days will start at 4:30 pm and will end at 8 pm. There will be discussion meetings and cultural programs every day. The five-day event will have a scheduled audience of 500. However, they have to undergo covid test before the ceremony. The test will be effective for 48 hours. Five centers have also been fixed for the test. The remaining five days of the program will be recorded and live. There will be no presence.

The theme of the March 17 event is "Bhengeche Duar, Eseche Jyotirmoy".

President Abdul Hamid will be the chief guest on the occasion. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will preside. Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be present on the day. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will deliver video messages.

March 26 is the 50th anniversary of independence and the golden line of progress. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will be present on this day. Besides, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present.
