Dhaka, May 7: The government has issued eight directives on wearing masks outside the home during the coronavirus pandemic. The directive was given in the official information statement on Thursday (May 6).

It says the government will maintain a tough position pertaining to the usage of masks outside the home to prevent coronavirus infections. In this case, the law enforcement agencies have already started taking legal action.

According to the World Health Organization, masks are one of the means or materials that can reduce the risk of coronavirus disease. Everyone must comply with government guidelines for the use of masks to prevent coronavirus infection when someone leaves the house for an emergency.

The information statement states that everyone should be careful to follow the instructions when using the mask.

Government's instructions on wearing a mask: -

It is best to use a multi-layered surgical mask, which should be used only once.

Many people cover their faces with their noses open when wearing masks, which is not correct. Instead, the upper part of the metal should be pressed with the nose and the lower part should cover till under the chin. The mask should be worn covering the entire face.

Many spoke with their masks open. That's not right either. The germs attached to it spread easily.

Surgical masks should not be used for long periods of time at home. A mask must be used for a maximum of one day and discarded.

Masks must be worn in places where it is difficult to maintain social distance, such as public transport and markets or shops. Besides, social distance should be maintained and hands should be kept sterile.

Ordinary cloth masks must be cleaned after use. Wearing an unclean mask is more likely to cause the disease. The World Health Organization recommends disinfecting used masks. The mask should be soaked in soapy water, washed, dried in the sun and disinfected.

Wet masks should not be worn. This increases the risk of infection.

When you go out, you need to keep two masks in a bag. If the face mask is damaged or wet for any reason, another one should be used.
