Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 5: Nowadays, not only madrasas, but also many kindergartens do not sing the national anthem. But the government has instructions in this regard. Moreover, many government officials and employees still carefully avoid the 'Joy Bangla' slogan at state functions, although it is mandatory. It is clearly written in the law - included in the constitution.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said these things in a discussion on 'Free Bangabandhu's Constitution from the stigma of communalism' on the occasion of 51st Constitution Day at Abdus Salam Hall of National Press Club on Friday.

He said that at least 30% of the BNP is against the liberation war. They are not reduced. No Razaka became a freedom fighter. But many freedom fighters were inspired by Razakar's ideals. They say Bangladesh Zindabad like Pakistan Zindabad.

Urging to move forward with the power of non-communalism, the minister said, I think that Bangabandhu's non-communal constitution should not only be implemented, but it should also be brought into the minds of people. We who believe in liberation war, believe in non-communalism, should be more aware of communalism.

Educationist Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury said in the event organized by Khatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee of 1971, there are all kinds of measures to destroy the culture of Bangladesh in schools of communal power. Our clothes are not what they used to be. I feel like I am in Afghanistan. Our women's attire has changed drastically. They will not wear the country of Sufiya Kamal, the clothes of Begum Rokeira, the clothes of Jahanara Imam. We are sending satellites into space but have fallen far down the mind.

Historian Professor Muntasir Mamun said, this communal instability has been included in the BNP constitution. If BNP-Jamaat comes to power, it will be completely radicalized. So we should unite and take some practical steps.

Social activist and Member of Parliament Arma Dutta said, Bangabandhu believed that religion cannot divide relationships. The liberation war of 1971 was the proof of that. Our suffering has eased somewhat as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recognized this day as a holy day. I would request that this constitution of 1972 should be included in the textbooks and practiced regularly.
