Dhaka, Nov 24: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said that the government is not interfering in the trial proceedings of BNP's top leaders.

He said, "Judiciary is completely independent. There is no interference in this matter."

He said this in response to a question from journalists after a meeting with Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan at his office on Thursday, November 23.

The law minister said, "Firstly, the judiciary is completely independent. There is no interference in the judicial proceedings of any case. I will not say anything more, because all the cases are pending. I do not comment on any pending matter."

'Many have complained that the top leaders of BNP are not getting bail due to the pressure of the government' — in response to the question, Anisul Huq said, "The judiciary is completely independent and there is no interference in this matter. I don't want to say more than that. That's because now these are subjudice matters, you know I never say anything on subjudice matters."

When asked about the bail fraud of the accused in the murder of a freedom fighter, the minister said, "I know and have seen it." Hope proper action will be taken in this regard."

In response to the question about what has been discussed with the Chief Justice, Anisul Huq said that the vacation of the Supreme Court will start from December 15. For this reason he paid a courtesy call to the Chief Justice.
