Heat wave blowing in 11 regions including 5 divisions

Dhaka, May 30: Mild heat wave has started in five divisions and 11 regions of the country as the temperature has increased. Bangladesh Meteorological Department said that the rainless conditions may continue today (Tuesday), which may increase day and night temperatures.

It did not rain anywhere in the country for 24 hours from Sunday 6 pm to Monday 6 pm. The weather department had predicted a maximum of 2 degrees Celsius during the day. On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was 36.6 degrees Celsius in Khepupara of Patuakhali. The country's highest temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was recorded in Rangamati on Monday. The maximum temperature in Dhaka has increased from 35 degrees Celsius to 36.3 degrees Celsius. As the heat rises, a mild heatwave is blowing across Dhaka Division.

According to the Meteorological Department, if the temperature over a wide area is 36 to 38 degrees, it is called mild, 38 to 40 degrees is moderate and if it is more than 40 degrees Celsius, it is called severe heat wave.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Monday said that the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky over the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country during this time.

A mild heat wave is moving over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions along with Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Sylhet, Sandwip, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Comilla, Chandpur, Maizdicourt, Feni and Bandarban divisions and may spread.

Bajlur said that there is no possibility of change in the weather conditions in the next two days, rain or thunder may occur in Sylhet and Chittagong divisions in the next five days.
