Dhaka, August 23: The Meteorological Department has announced the possibility of heavy rain in four divisions. At the same time, the agency also said that the day temperature likely to drop up to 2 degrees Celsius.

The heavy rainfall warning issued on Tuesday afternoon said that heavy (44 to 88 mm) to very heavy (89 mm or more) rainfall may occur at some places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions during the next 72 hours from 4 pm on Tuesday under the influence of active monsoon. can Sylhet received the highest rainfall of 234 mm in the last 24 hours from Monday 6 pm to Tuesday 6 pm.

Monsoon is active over northern regions and moderately active over other parts of the country and moderate over North Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Department said.

Highlighting the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 6 pm on Tuesday, Meteorologist Md. Bajlur Rashid said that light to moderate rain with gusty winds or thunderstorms will occur temporarily in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in many places of Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions. May be At the same time, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

He said that the day temperature may drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius and the night temperature may drop slightly across the country, adding that the trend of rainfall may increase in the next two days. The sky of Dhaka was covered with clouds all day on Tuesday. In the afternoon, it rained heavily in Dhaka. According to the Meteorological Department, one millimeter of rain has fallen in Dhaka.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature in the country was 35 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 32.5 degrees Celsius. The weather forecast for the country's inland river ports till 1:00 pm said- Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Dhaka, Faridpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet regions from south or southeast at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour. Rain or thundershowers with gusty winds may occur temporarily. The river ports in these areas have been asked to show the number one warning signal.
