Holy Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on July 10

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 1: The moon of the holy month of Zilhajj of the year 1443 AH was seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Thursday evening. So, the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on July 10 (Sunday).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at Baitul Mukarram meeting room on Thursday evening. The meeting was presided over by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. A. Awal Hawlader.

Additional Secretary Awal Hawlader told the meeting that according to information received from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, meteorological department, space research center, remote sensing center, the moon of Zilhajj month of 1443 AH was seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Thursday.

The counting of Zilhaj month will start from Friday, July 1. Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on Sunday, July 10 (10 Zilhajj).

Eid al-Azha will be celebrated on July 9 in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries as the moon of the month of Zilhajj was seen on Wednesday. Hajj will be held on July 8.
