Dhaka, April 6: Today is the holy Lailatul Qadr or Shab-e-Qadr. Shab-e-Qadr will be observed across the country from this Saturday evening with due religious dignity and solemnity.

Devoted Muslims will observe the holy Lailatul Qadr through Ibadat Bandegi in the hope of gaining the closeness and mercy of the great Rabbul Alamin.

Almighty Allah has given a unique status to the night of Lailatul Qadr. The worship of this night is better than the worship of a thousand months. Allah's infinite mercy and blessings are showered on this night. On this holy night, devout Muslims perform worship in the hope of gaining closeness to Allah Almighty. The Holy Qur'an was revealed in Lailatul Qadr of the holy month of Ramadan. Therefore, in gratitude to Almighty Allah, devout Muslims will be busy in worshiping in their homes and mosques. Muslims will celebrate Shab-e-Qadr through Nafal Namaz, recitation of Holy Quran, Zikir-Askar, Dua, Milad Mahfil.

President Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the occasion of the holy Lailatul Qadr. Bangladesh Television and private satellite television channels and Bangladesh Betar and private radio will broadcast special programmes on the occasion of Holy Shab-e-Qadr. Tomorrow (Sunday) will be a public holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr.
