Dhaka, March 29: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Many people have to face a lot of harassment while taking land related services. In the Digital Bangladesh, Smart Bangladesh that we are building, people will no longer have to face that harassment. Live in the country, stay abroad; your wealth will be yours. We have taken the measures to ensure your rights. We want all kinds of irregularities to be removed from Bangladesh."

She said this at the inauguration of the National Land Conference-2023 and seven initiatives and projects of the Ministry of Land. The event was organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital on Wednesday, March 29 at noon.

The Prime Minister said, "I hope that every officer and employee of the Ministry of Lands will work with more dedication by being energized by the motto of building a smart Bangladesh with the aim of solving land-related complications and providing services. Awami League is a servant of the people. It has been working to establish the rights of people in this country since its inception. Welfare of the people is our aim."

Under the chairmanship of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Mokbul Hossain, President of the Standing Committee of the Land Ministry, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Secretary of the Land Ministry, also spoke at the event.

"It is very common in society that both brothers and sisters deprive each other of their ancestral property - leading to attacks, killings and clashes," the Prime Minister said.

She added, "If a proper land management system can be ensured, the problem will be solved."

Sheikh Hasina said that her government has taken measures to protect the land ownership of all the people staying in the country and abroad. She said, "Wherever you stay in the country and abroad - your (compatriots) property will be yours. We have taken measures to protect your rights."

"The problem will no longer exist as we are creating a digital land system," the Prime Minister said, noting that people would not face any hassle while getting land related services.

At the same event, the Prime Minister also launched seven innovative initiatives. These are - Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Memorial at Lakshmipur and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Guchgram Complex, Registration-Mutation Interconnection, Smart Land Map, Smart Land Records, Smart Land Pedia, Smart Land.
