I want to implement election promises: PM Hasina
Dhaka, July 3: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said her government is committed to ensuring a better quality of life for the people by implementing the party's election promises. She called upon all to work together to build the country as a prosperous and developed country while maintaining the continuity of ongoing development.
"We want to live up to the promise we made to the people," she said.
She was speaking at a function organized by the ministries and departments on the occasion of signing the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the fiscal year 2022-23.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was virtually involved in the main event of the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital through video conference from Ganobhaban. "We do politics for the people of the country," she said. "The election manifesto of the party announced during my participation in the election has an action plan to take the country forward socially."
The Prime Minister said as soon as the Awami League came to power and formulated the budget, it always kept in view its election manifesto and determined how much it had been implemented and how much it needed to be done. He said that in implementing the plan, his government specifies immediate, medium-term and long-term plans, five-year plans and long-term perspectives.
According to the 2008 election manifesto, her government has been able to bring Bangladesh as a developing country by 2021, and in the wake of the Coronavirus invasion, it celebrated the Father of the Nation's birth centenary in 2020 and the golden jubilee of independence in 2021. Besides, following the Guchhagram project launched by the Father of the Nation, the idea of providing free houses to all the homeless people of the country in 'Mujib Year' has continued to be implemented.
At the event, ‘Annual Performance Award 2022’ and ‘Integrity Award 2022’ were given among the successful ministries / departments and individuals. Minister for Liberation War Affairs Akam Mozammel Haque handed over the award to the winners on behalf of the Prime Minister. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain was present on the stage.
