Dhaka, November 26: Mentioning that her government has taken initiative to create skilled manpower ahead of the 4th Industrial Revolution, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, if not initiated from now on, the country will fall behind.

The Prime Minister said, "The world is now talking about the fourth industrial revolution. With this fourth industrial revolution in mind, we need to create a skilled workforce. If we don't take initiative for that now, we will fall behind. So we don’t want to go backwards. That is why the training is needed immediately. Because we want to keep pace with the world. We will keep pace with the world as far as technology is concerned.”

The Prime Minister participated in the main event held at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Auditorium in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar via video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban.

It is to be noted that although almost everyone in the society knows about freelancing, freelancers have been having problems with their identity for so long. This problem is going to be solved for the freelancers through the known card or freelancing ID provided by the government of Bangladesh.

This card can be used as proof of employment, earnings or skills. This will make it easier for freelancers to do things like banking or visa application, renting a home or office and even enrolling children in school. About 6 lakh freelancers working in IT of the country will get the opportunity to get identity card by registering here through the relevant website.

Reiterating her confidence in the country's young generation, the Prime Minister said, "I know our sons and daughters are very talented. They can learn very little. Our job as a government is to create that opportunity. That is what we are doing."

She added that 39 high-tech or software technology parks are being set up across the country. When these are completed, about 3 lakh people will be employed. In which the youth society will get the most work. Investment will come from home and abroad and a skilled workforce will be created.

She also mentioned that his government is taking various initiatives to create a skilled workforce including setting up 31 specialized labs in different universities to counter the competition of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
