Inauguration of pipeline oil import from India in March-April

Dhaka: A Bangladeshi official has said import of oil from India will begin from March-April season.

He said that the issue of oil import from India is in good progress. It is expected to be inaugurated by next March or April. The governments of both countries are ready for that.

He said this in response to the questions of journalists after an exchange meeting at the rest house of Sayedpur Roads and Public Paths Department on Saturday evening. This exchange meeting was held with the concerned officers of the divisional level about the implementation of important and large development programs of Rangpur division and the activities of social safety net.

Tofazzal Hossain Mia said, the connectivity between Chilahati and the surrounding countries, especially Mongla, could not be imagined before. All necessary steps will be taken to pass this connectivity. Our various ministries are working for this. We don't give you any time, but we respect your expectations. The prospects are very good and if these infrastructures can be done, we think the economic development of the region will be very fast.

Appreciating the important and big development progress of Rangpur region, the chief secretary also said that the departments of Rangpur division, such as road department, LGED, food, agriculture and other departments, are working to achieve the target set for the implementation of the development projects of the government. Also they never faced any problem locally in these works. They followed the proper instructions of the government.
