India agrees to supply fuel oil to Bangladesh
New Delhi: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam said that India has agreed to export fuel oil to Bangladesh.
He said this during a press briefing in New Delhi on Tuesday (September 6).
On this day, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met in a bilateral meeting at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Cooperation on various bilateral issues was discussed in the meeting. Seven MoUs were signed after the meeting. Later, the two Prime Ministers issued a joint statement.
Shahriar Alam told reporters that India has political support and goodwill to export fuel oil to Bangladesh. They are interested in this. But Bangladesh will also want to buy gas from India. The concerned ministry of Bangladesh will discuss this matter with the Indian side.
Shahriar Alam also said that India has expressed interest in investing more in Bangladesh's energy and power sector.
