Dhaka, Dec 2: How does the Indian government directly support an undemocratic dictatorship? They say they are in favour of the people of Bangladesh, but they are actually taking a stand against 18 crore people, which is sad. Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed said this in a virtual press conference on behalf of BNP on Friday afternoon.

He said that when the whole world is supporting the disenfranchised, democracy-loving people of Bangladesh, Russia, China and India are making statements in favour of Sheikh Hasina, who has been in power for 15 years without a vote. There is no democracy in Russia-China. But our neighbor India is a democratic country. How does the Indian government directly support an undemocratic dictatorship? They say they are in favor of the people of Bangladesh, but they have actually taken a stand against the people.

Rizvi said, an article in the famous The Diplomat said that during the recent G-20 summit in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of India highlighted the dignity of democracy and diversity, even calling his country the 'mother of democracy'.

Rizvi said the government has tried to break the BNP and lure some parties from the BNP alliance to hold farcical elections. No one but a few greedy wretched accomplices in this vile action of the government. It has been proved that the government has failed to organize acceptable elections in the attempt to bring the phony parties to the elections. This one-sided election will not save them, it will send them into exile. Those who participate in government's rigged election due to greed will become the trash of politics. Common people have already termed them dishonest.

Stating the total number of arrests, cases, accused, injured and deaths of BNP and its affiliated organizations across the country in the last 24 hours, Rizvi said that 315 people were arrested, 20 people were injured and two people died. Besides, 12 cases have been filed. 1315 people have been accused in these cases.
