Dhaka, March 27: Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said that the Indian government is unable to implement the Teesta Treaty due to various obligations. He made the remarks at a press conference at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Saturday (March 27) night.

"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the Indian Prime Minister about the Teesta. But the Indian Prime Minister has just said we are committed. He did not say more. We are always optimistic, it will be. "Our prime minister has said that they are also trying on the Teesta. They are not able to implement the Teesta treaty due to some compulsions."

Abdul Momen said, "We want to believe in assurances. The prime ministers of the two countries have agreed to stop killing at the border. That is why border huts have been set up. In many cases it is because of trade and commerce. It happens. Criminal activity, cattle theft, drugs must be stopped. Otherwise, it will happen. One party should not be blamed. "

Asked about the achievements of Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh, the minister said, "His visit is a matter of pride for us. Apart from India, heads of state and government of many countries have come to celebrate Bangabandhu's birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence." He praised Bangladesh's unimaginable success. The Indian Prime Minister also visited Corona. He (Modi) said that he came to Bangladesh because of his special affection. "

Asked if the Rohingya issue had been discussed, he said, "Yes, the Rohingya have been discussed. He (Modi) also said they have to go back."
The Foreign Minister said, "India-Bangladesh friendship is more than 50 years old. Several MoUs have been signed between Bangladesh and India and several projects, including the Dhaka-New Jalpaiguri Mitali Express train, have been virtually inaugurated. India has donated 109 ambulances and 12 lakh corona vaccines. Sheikh Hasina has also given several gifts to the Prime Minister of India.

He added, "The Dhaka-New Jalpaiguri Mitali Express train service was launched today. It will carry passengers. The railway line was built in the area in 1962 in India. It was closed after the Indo-Pakistani war in 1965. It has been reopened after a long time."
