Rajshahi Heat Wave Intense heat in Rajshahi
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 16: People in Rajshahi have been experiencing intense heat since Friday (April 15) morning.
The maximum temperature recorded in Rajshahi on Friday was 42.2 degree Celsius, which is the highest temperature of the season. The heat wave has been flowing over Rajshahi region for several days now. Only 0.4 mm rainfall was recorded on April 4. Although light rain fell in different parts of the country before and after this, no rain was seen in the drought prone Rajshahi.
According to the Rajshahi Meteorological Office, the temperature in Rajshahi has been rising for several days. At 3 pm on Friday, the highest temperature recorded in Rajshahi was 42.2 degree Celsius. Generally, if the temperature is between 36 and 38 degree Celsius, then it is considered as mild heat wave, if it is between 38 and 40 degree then moderate heat wave is considered and if the temperature is between 40 to 42 degree, then it is considered as intense heat wave. When the temperature rises above 42 degree Celsius, it is considered as very intense heat wave.
